Jesús Pérez Rivera was born on September 27th, 1990, in Nezahualcóyotl, State of México. He expressed an interest in the visual arts from a young age, His primary passions, however, were painting and drawing. At the age of 11, he learned from his mother the ancient technique of Popotillo. It was through this technique that he found his true voice and articulated his ideas, thoughts, and desires. He obtained his bachelor´s degree in philosophy from the University Vasco de Quiroga (UVAQ) in Morelia, Michoacán. For several years he taught in this field. It was not until 2016 that he created Ariosto Rivera with Joaquín Ariosto.
